There are 10 games on Friday’s NBA DFS slates, providing daily Fantasy basketball owners with 20 teams worth of talent in the NBA DFS player pool. Among the stars in action Friday is two-time NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, who is going for 26.1 points and 10.9 rebounds per game and leads the Milwaukee Bucks against the visiting Utah Jazz at 8 p.m. ET. LeBron James and Anthony Davis look to rebound from a nine-point home loss Thursday when they lead the Los Angeles Lakers against the visiting Chicago Bulls at 10 p.m. ET.
Should Antetokounmpo, James or Davis be parts of your NBA DFS strategy on Friday? And what other players should you consider when entering daily Fantasy basketball tournaments, 50-50s or cash games on websites like DraftKings and FanDuel? Top NBA DFS picks for Friday, Jan. 8
One of McClure’s top NBA DFS picks for his Friday NBA daily Fantasy lineups is Nets guard Caris LeVert at $7,400 on DraftKings and $6,800 on FanDuel. LeVert is going for 15.3 points, 4.2 rebounds and 6.0 assists through nine games of the 2020-21 NBA season. That includes a 22-point, seven-rebound, 10-assist performance Thursday against the Sixers.
LeVert earned the start in place of Kyrie Irving (personal), and didn’t waste the chance — attempting 15 first-half shots and scoring 18 of his points before intermission. With Irving not on the road trip Friday to Memphis, either, LeVert is in prime position to get near the 32 minutes he earned Thursday. The Grizzlies are also ranked 25th defending LeVert’s NBA DFS position, so McClure wants you to roll big with the fifth-year pro.
Part of McClure’s optimal NBA DFS strategy also includes Hornets guard LaMelo Ball at $6,500 on DraftKings and $6,900 on FanDuel. Ball has been solid in his rookie season, going for 11.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 1.6 steals. The 19-year-old Ball went for 13 points, eight rebounds and five assists in 24 minutes off the bench Wednesday against the Hawks.
Ball is pushing Devonte’ Graham for the starting role in Charlotte, as Graham’s totals have been trending down this season and Ball is proving a solid contributor. Contributing almost 33 daily Fantasy basketball points per game on DraftKings in his last seven games, Ball could see is true breakout moment Friday against the Pelicans. McClure loves Ball’s upside Friday against New Orleans and brother Lonzo, and recommends him in all NBA DFS formats.
