Seton Hall lands commitment from top grad transfer Bryce Aiken

We now know how Seton Hall will try and replace their starting backcourt of Myles Powell and Quincy McKnight.

On Thursday, Harvard guard Bryce Aiken announced that he will be committing to play for the Pirates. Aiken is a grad transfer that played four seasona for the Crimson. He was given an extra year of eligibility after playing just seven games as a senior. As a junior, he was arguably the best player in the Ivy League, averaging better than 22 points as a 6-foot-2 lead guard.

He’ll join Takal Molson, a grad transfer from Canisius, in the Pirate backcourt. Molson averaged 16.9 points last season.

It’s hard to imagine that duo being near as good as Powell, a first-team all-american, and McKnight, an all-Big East guard, but they won’t have to be. Seton Hall will likely be built around Sandro Mamukelashvili on the inside next season, and if Myles Cale, Jared Rhoden and Tyrese Samuel all take a step forward, Seton Hall has a chance to be one of the better teams in the league again.
